How Juvederm Can Enhance Your Natural Beauty

As far as wrinkle reducing treatments, dermal fillers take the cake. If you’re concerned about aging skin, dermal fillers can provide a natural, youthful look. Juvederm is a popular option — here’s why, and what to expect from this cosmetic treatment.

What to Know About Juvederm

What Are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are wrinkle reducing treatments that can last anywhere from three months to two years. Most dermal fillers utilize an active ingredient of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a polymer that helps moisturize and lubricate body tissue, promoting supple and firm skin and reducing fine lines and creases.

Dermal fillers are hyaluronic acid-based compounds that are injected to restore volume to the skin. They can be used on the forehead, around the eyes, in the lips, or on the cheeks in order to plump skin and fight against the effects of aging. The cosmetic treatment itself takes anywhere from 15 minutes to one hour, depending on the treated areas.

There are multiple dermal fillers brands, each bringing slightly different benefits and uses on different skin concerns. Juvederm is one of the most widely used and trusted dermal fillers on the market.

What Is Juvederm?

Juvederm is the leading collection of dermal fillers globally. The Juvederm portfolio includes five types of fillers: Juvederm Vollure XC, Juvederm Voluma XC, Juvederm Volbella XC, Juvederm XC, and Juvederm Ultra XC.

Juvederm Vollure XC and Juvederm XC are primarily used to reduce smile lines and deeper creases around the nose and mouth. Using hyaluronic acid, these dermal fillers smooth out wrinkles, and their effects can last up to a year and a half.

Voluma XC works to restore fullness to the cheek area. Often, aging skin shows sagging and hollowness in the cheeks, so Voluma XC fills out this area, and results can last one to two years. Volbella XC is another of Juvederm’s line of dermal fillers, and this one is typically used on vertical lip lines. It restores plumpness to the lips and usually lasts for up to one year.

Finally, the Ultra XC dermal filler is all-encompassing and can be used on multiple parts of the face — including but not limited to marionette lines around the mouth, folds in the nose area, deep creases in the forehead, and more. Usually, Ultra XC lasts about a year.

What Else Should I Know About Juvederm?

First, keep in mind that you should always receive dermal fillers — and any cosmetic treatment — from a reputable clinician. Anyone can administer dermal fillers, so be sure to check the credentials and experience of your provider to ensure your safety and natural-looking results.

Dermal fillers like Juvederm will last different amounts of time for different people, depending on the severity of the skin condition being treated, the area where the filler is administered, and the individual’s response to the procedure. One syringe of Juvederm costs around $600. You should always be wary of any largely discounted treatments. It’s most important to choose safe, trusted, and high-quality dermal fillers.
